Publishing in the art world – Formation Ainga 2025

From February 26 to 28, 2025, Fondation H is offering the first module of the year dedicated to publishing in the art world. This training aims to provide participants with essential knowledge in the field of art publications, enabling them to develop skills in the design, production, and distribution of artistic publications. Addressed to cultural professionals, journalists, and artists interested in publishing, this module covers identifying target audiences, creating editorial plans, and utilizing both print and digital media, while offering guidance on resource management and production processes.

Led by Céline Seror, this module combines theoretical and practical sessions over 3 days (18 hours) at Fondation H.

The training aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills in the field of art publishing:
– Understand the evolution and formats of art publications: study the history of art publications, with a focus on the African context, and analyze various formats (digital, print, podcasts, etc.).
– Define a target audience and create an editorial plan: identify the audience for an art publication and structure its content considering the context while defining the editorial line, design, and distribution.
– Explore publishing platforms and tools: learn the specifics of digital and print media.
– Navigate the steps of creating a publication: address financial management, team building, and selecting tools and resources.
